Sony, durante la conferenza di Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia per il Tokyo Game Show, ha annunciato ufficialmente il cambio di nome per Project Morpheus: la periferica ora si chiamerà infatti PlayStation VR.
Sony ha fatto sapere inoltre che durante l’evento che aprirà ufficialmente i battenti il 17 settembre, gli utenti potranno provare alcune demo con PlayStation VR, tra le quali Danganronpa VR, Final Fantasy XIV Online, Hatsune Miku: VR Tech Demo, RIGS: Machine Combat League, Dynasty Warriors 8: VR Demo, Kitchen, The Playroom VR, Joysund VR e Summer Lesson.
